In 2011, Brook Oldre, considered one of the country’s top Android application developers, saw the future for what is now known as the Internet of Things (IoT). While he was the lead engineer at one of the country’s leading HVAC controller manufacturers, Brook also began development work on a software platform that he envisioned could facilitate this connected future. On his next assignment in 2013, as Development Lead on the team developing a shopper discount/loyalty application for one of the nation’s leading mass merchants, he met Brett Loney, a rising talent in utilizing the Facebook Ad Platform to reach consumers. Together, they saw the power that a truly connected retail environment could offer to shoppers, retailers and brands. The vision of ADVOS for retail was born. Paul Taunton, a successful local business owner and investor, recognized the potential of the team and the platform, and made an investment to fund Opnia in 2014. In 2015, Glen Dall, CEO of a national POP marketing services company with 25 years of brand and retail experience, saw the potential in ADVOS as the next wave of shopper marketing. He joined the team as Executive Chairman.
